DAY 18 - Sunday, October 7 - DAILY QUOTES

Craig Libby-

Craig – It was actually great to be back on the bike today.  Although the rest days were occupied with laundry, convention meetings and a hotel room, it was nice to start heading south again.  I want to thank Camp Santa Cruz for all their hospitality over the weekend.  After church service and lunch, we had a short  (50 miles) but beautiful ride this afternoon from Santa Cruz to Pacific Grove. We are so thankful for Dutch’s Uncle Bob to open his home up for us tonight.  Great Spaghetti meal Uncle Bob!

Josh – I had a great time on Daddy’s bike today.  I rode all 50 miles this afternoon.  I was able to see lots artichoke and strawberry fields as well as beautiful ocean coves filled with harbor seals.

Dave – After a wonderful stay at Camp Santa Cruz, following Sunday school and church, we had a quick lunch and got on the road by 1:40pm.  The road took us through artichoke and strawberry fields.  There were a few hills but fairly flat ride.  Almost half of the route was on bike trails, which was nice.  We arrived at “Uncle Bob’s” after 50 miles of riding where we set up the tents in the back yard and Uncle Bob fed us a great spaghetti dinner.

Jody – I’m so glad we were able to have a couple of days off. I was especially glad to be able to sleep in and I really enjoyed an Italian restaurant we ate at across from our hotel. The chef was great! In addition, I did my best to stretch and tend to my aches and pains and I’m so glad I did. When I started riding again today, I felt great. I managed to run my foot into the couch at the hotel last night but my black and blue toe didn’t even bother me either. I enjoyed riding in some familiar territory this afternoon. The coast in Monterey is beautiful. During the conference in Santa Cruz, I was encouraged and helped by thinking about the faith of Abraham. I have taken this with me.
