Sept. 20th:
One forgets how hard a
bicycle seat can be
after riding 100 miles a
day. It was great to be
back on the road again
with the Bike4Christ
crew. The scenery today
was amazing. Although
Brad and I had a slight
detour of an extra 5
miles, we were able to
meet some lovely cows
along the way. Thank
you Pastor Bob for such
a great send off dinner
on Friday night.
Jesse Stevens
The trip began on
Wednesday with a big
bang, literally. After
fixing some bikes, we
began our trek 5 hours
later. We had a great
time driving up north,
staying at with the
Behrens family at the
Colton church – what
great hosts they were.
As far as the riding
goes, it has been a lot
of hills. Nothing too
steep, but some long
ones. Also, as we are
staring out at 7am, the
temp. is 45 degrees
(take into consideration
the wind from riding and
blowing, and the wind
chill has probably been
at freezing level).
Thanks to Dutch, I have
a wind breaker and
jacket to wear in the
morning. At any rate, we
have done 2 centuries in
a row (100 mile rides),
and I have felt really
good both days. No
considerable soreness,
and I have felt strong
throughout the entire
day. The Lord has been
good in providing me
health and strength. I
am asking for grace to
continue. We will be
heading for the
Oregon/Washington border
tomorrow. Look forward
to telling you more in
the days to come. Read
the other riders
comments about the
entertainment we’ve had.
