DAY 3 -
Saturday,
Sept 22
-
DAILY
QUOTES
Mary
Schwimer
WOW our
first
day
riding!!!
Everything
that
could
hurt
did! My
knee
especially
hurts
from
when I
fell 2
weeks
ago. I
feel
like I
haven’t
ridden
in 6
months!!
I only
fell
once
though.
And
puppy
did
great
except
she got
a little
sick on
my back
while
riding
this
morning.
I am so
glad I
left my
jacket
on. She
had a
lot of
fun
barking
at the
cows
this
morning
though
but was
good the
rest of
the day.
Everybody
was
helpful
and
supportive
it was
so great
to see
Katherine
&
Christopher
standing
on
corners
yelling
at us
were to
go and
cheering
us on. I
had a
hard
time
with all
the
hills,
and
David
told me
at lunch
that we
were
done
with
hills
for the
day,
YEAH
RIGHT,
even
with
Jesse’s
help in
the AM
and Jeff
all day
I fell
too far
behind
and had
to be
picked
up to
not miss
the
ferry. I
still
did
between
75 & 80
miles
for the
day.
WOW
everything
hurts, I
didn’t
hurt
this bad
after
the
marathon!!!
And my
voice is
almost
gone. I
am sooo
tired
and
ready
for
bed!!! |
Jody
– I learned an important
lesson today. I can’t
depend on anyone or
anything but the Lord.
“Thank you Lord!” And
“thank you” to all of
you that have been
praying for me! I’ve
needed lots of prayer.
Dave – We’ve been
blessed by not having
any rain. We’re thankful
for the great send off
dinner the Sumas Church
provided. We had a
farewell prayer by
Pastor Bob at the park
in Sumas – a block from
the border. We had a
picture taken with our
tires touching the
fence. We had breakfast
in the parking lot of
the Bellingham AC
Church. It was a tough
ride from the border to
the Old Fort Townsend
State Park. We were
entertained at the ferry
by an interesting
musical group that were
headed to a festival in
Port Townsend. The ferry
was late and we had to
ride the last few miles
to the State Park in the
dark.
Today was another 100
mile day with lots of
hills and cool
temperatures. We made it
into our RV Park before
dark though.
Jeremy -
We started with our
wheels touching the
fence of the Canadian
border it was pretty
easy going, we went on a
ferry I danced and
performed on the ferry. |
