DAY 4 - Sunday, Sept 23 - DAILY QUOTES

Jesse Stevens - The trip began on Wednesday with a big bang, literally. After fixing some bikes, we began our trek 5 hours later. We had a great time driving up north, staying at with the Behrens family at the Colton church – what great hosts they were. As far as the riding goes, it has been a lot of hills. Nothing too steep, but some long ones. Also, as we are staring out at 7am, the temp. is 45 degrees (take into consideration the wind from riding and blowing, and the wind chill has probably been at freezing level). Thanks to Dutch, I have a wind breaker and jacket to wear in the morning. At any rate, we have done 2 centuries in a row (100 mile rides), and I have felt really good both days. No considerable soreness, and I have felt strong throughout the entire day. The Lord has been good in providing me health and strength. I am asking for grace to continue. We will be heading for the Oregon/Washington border tomorrow. Look forward to telling you more in the days to come. Read the other riders comments about the entertainment we’ve had.

Jeremy - Today was a really hard day we had hills practically the whole day.

I learned an important lesson at times you will feel alone  and get lonely but when that happened I remembered I’m not alone  God’s with me. An a verse came to me I will never leave you or forsake you. THANK YOU LORD  for your creation and being with us. AMEN

Steve Monks - Wow!  What an adventure!  We’ve seen so much in just three days – bridges, canyons, farmland.  Uphill, downhill, and wind through the mountains and hills.

The rides have been long (almost one hundred miles each day) and challenging but totally awesome.  The support crew is doing an incredible job looking after us by cooking, and so much more. The first day we passed through beautiful farmand.  I imagined the whole trip would be so flat and beautiful.  Wishful thinking.  Today we passed over a four mile bridge to arrive in Astoria, Oregon.  Traffic was whizzing by, ships and water below.  It was exhilarating. Off to get some rest before another long ride tomorrow, most likely my fourth personal best. Love you all,
